The Steamworks is an off the path microbewery. They offer 20 choices of beer which change seasonally. Including Dark, Light Wheat, Pale Ale, and even Chili beers.
Steamworks has won multiple awards including a gold medal at the 2006 Great American Beer Festival. But Steamworks is more than a brewery. They also serve a good seafood boil. (Corn Cobs, Shrimp, Potatoes, Sausage, Crab) all boiled in a cajun seasoning and dumped onto your table. Im from South Texas, and some of Steamworks seafood blows away stuff I can get fresh at the Texas coast.
Atmosphere is nice, free serve yourself peanuts. Toss them on the floor. Although it is somewhat a bar, it is also a restaurant suitable for children.
Steamworks has locations in Bayfield and Durango, Bayfield is the closest to Pagosa Springs. Aprox a 40 minute drive.
Variety: Seafood, Brewery, Bar
Pros: Great Food, Fresh Seafood, Good Beer. 10 minutes from Sky Ute Casino.
Cons: Usually busy, lack of parking, must park at closed bank usually. Wait time for food is reasonable but not fast. Bit of a drive from Pagosa Springs.
